Description

Discover one of Mauritius’ most iconic natural landmarks with an unforgettable Le Morne Brabant Mountain Summit Hike. Rising 556 metres above the south-west coast, Le Morne Brabant is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, celebrated for its spectacular scenery and profound historical significance.

This 3.5 to 4.5-hour hiking adventure begins with a gradual ascent along the lower slopes of the mountain, offering increasingly beautiful views of the surrounding landscape. As you climb higher, the trail becomes steeper and more exposed, with short scrambling sections over rocky terrain where the use of hands may be required for support.

The reward awaits at the summit viewpoint, where breathtaking panoramic views stretch across the turquoise lagoons, coastline and mountains of south-west Mauritius.

Beyond its natural beauty, Le Morne holds deep cultural significance, closely associated with the history of enslaved people who sought refuge in its remote and inaccessible terrain. Today, the mountain stands as a powerful symbol of resistance and freedom.

Led by experienced local guides, this challenging half-day adventure combines nature, history, spectacular scenery and a rewarding physical challenge.
